$120,000425$100.00
$120,000620$130.43

Why the rate moves

The same $120,000 goal costs $100 an hour at 25 billable hours and 48 working weeks. Drop to 20 billable hours and take six weeks off and the rate has to be about $130. The calculator is the division. Your clients still have to agree to the rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should the goal include taxes?
If you need $120,000 after tax, the goal you type must be higher. This page divides whatever number you enter. It does not look up a tax bracket.
Why is 25 hours the sample week?
A 40 hour week rarely invoices 40 hours. Twenty to thirty billable hours is a common planning range for a solo practice.
